SUICIDE1: 227. Do you think a person has the right to end his or her own life if this person . . . A. Has an incurable disease?

SUICIDE2: 227. Do you think a person has the right to end his or her own life if this person . . . B. Has gone bankrupt?

SUICIDE3: 227. Do you think a person has the right to end his or her own life if this person . . . C. Has dishonored his or her family?

SUICIDE4: 227. Do you think a person has the right to end his or her own life if this person . . . D. Is tired of living and ready to die?

Male – listed gender as male

Female – listed gender as female (comparison variable in regression)

WhiteRace – Those who list their race as white (comparison variable in the regression)

BlackRace – Those who list their race as black

OtherRace – Those who list their race as something other than black or white

WRKSTAT: 1. Last week were you working full time, part time, going to school, keeping house, or what?

Employed - Those who are employed fulltime, partime or out temporarily due to illness, vacation, strike.

Unemployed - Those who are unemployed

OtherEmploy - Those who are retired, in school, keeping house, or other situation not included in the other two variables. (comparison variable in regression)

FAMILY16: 27. Were you living with both your own mother and father around the time you were 16? (IF NO: With whom were you living around that time?) (IF R. MARRIED OR LEFT HOME BY AGE 16, PROBE "BEFORE THAT.")

MOFA – Living with both mother and father.

FASMO – Living with father and step mother

MOSFA – Living with mother and step father

FaOnly – Living with only father

MoOnly – Living with only mother

Relative – Living with a relative other then mother or father
